Matthew Cummings is a licensed originator in New York State and has been with Sun Mortgage since March of 2017. He has been in the industry since 2010 and has a thorough understanding of the entire mortgage process. He prides himself on his attention to detail as well as his customer service. His focus is to exceed customer expectations and to get to the closing table on time. In addition to conventional financing, Matt is also an expert with FHA and VA loans. He is qualified to process 203K renovation loans as well as being a Certified Military Housing Specialist.

Matthew is a 2008 graduate of Iona College receiving a bachelor’s degree from Iona College’s Hagan School of Business. After graduating he started his career in banking. Matt was a Branch Manager/Loan Officer for a regional bank for over seven years. During his time there he received numerous awards for customer service, loan origination and annual productivity. After multiple promotions Matt decided to make the transition to the mortgage broker channel with Sun Mortgage in order to assist a greater portion of clients. At Sun Mortgage he can assist more clients utilizing additional lenders which avail him to a wider product variety. By having experience in both the banking and broker side of the mortgage industry, it gives him a unique perspective on how the industry works and how best to help his clients.

Matt and his fiancé Stacey currently live in Wappinger Falls, NY and will be getting married in late 2019. In his free time Matt enjoys playing sports, drawing and spending time with family and friends.
